Is your yard a boring landscape? Imagine a 4 ½ foot heron standing in your garden, keeping watch over your flowers and vegetables in the summer, and providing beauty all winter! This class is a great way to take some time for yourself, or get together with a friend for a fun experience.

Registration for this class for a one day class, this class only

You’ll need to bring these supplies:

100ft of aluminum foil
2 – 100% cotton t-shirts could be white, grey, blue, navy or black

Your registration fee covers everything else you’ll need for your sculpture.

We will focus on building the structure and form of your heron. You’ll learn how to create a concrete base to provide your heron with a solid foundation. Each student chooses the pose they want for their heron, so you’re assured of having a unique sculpture.

Then we focus on cutting the t-shirts and wrapping the bird with Paverpol and fabric. In this session your sculpture takes shape using wire, Styrofoam, aluminum foil and t-shirts. You’ll learn how to create different textures with wrapping techniques.

The next stage is to add color and highlight to your bird, to give it even more character. We will focus on dry brush techniques to make your sculpture more dramatic.

At the end of the class all sculptures will be photographed before “leaving the nest”.
